Anime = Mind Blown!

Hello Anime Freaks! Today’s anime review in the "Anime = Mind Blown" section will be about “Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion” often referred to as simply Code Geass, it is a splendid anime to watch and was really famous because of its actions, plot twist(I was and still am stunned by the plot twists!) Since a lot of people have started watching anime recently for them this name is a bit unknown but it is a great anime to watch and you will remain enchanted by it till you finish both the seasons.

Genre: Action, Adventure, Drama, touches of Fantasy and Politics

It was created by Sunrise, directed by Gorō Taniguchi, and written by Ichirō Ōkouchi. Code Geass season 1started in 2006 continued till 2007. Its sequel series  Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 (season 2) from April 2008 to September, 2008.

Plot: 9/10

The story is set in future where the world becomes split into three superpowers; the Holy Britannian Empire (the Americas; also called Britannia), the Chinese Federation (Asia), and the European Union (Europe and Africa; previously known as the Euro-Universe). The story takes place after the in the year 2010 the Holy Empire of Britannia began a campaign of conquest, its sights set on Japan. Operations were completed in one month due to Britannia's deployment of new mobile humanoid armor vehicles dubbed Knightmare Frames. Japan's rights and identity were stripped away, the once proud nation now referred to as Area 11. Its citizens, are forced to scratch out a living while the Britannian aristocracy lives comfortably within their settlements. Pockets of resistance appear throughout Area 11, working towards independence for Japan.

Lelouch Vi Britannia, the main protagonist, is an exiled Britannian prince who was sent as a bargaining tool to Japan, along with his sister Nunnally by his father, Emperor Charles Zi Britannia, after his mother was killed. Nunnally, a person physically and emotionally traumatized by her mother’s death is a responsibility of Lelouch which makes difficult for Lelouch as he is on the run in Japan during the war. After the war in the ruins of a Japanese city he then vows to his Japanese friend Suzaku Kururugi that he will one day destroy Britannia.

Seven years later in 2017, Lelouch, now a student at Ashford Academy by the fake name of Lelouch Lamperouge gets caught up in a terrorist attack and finds a girl called C.C.(also called C2), who saves Lelouch's life from the Britannian Royal Guard, by making a contract with him that grants Lelouch a supernatural power known as Geass .This power, also known as the "Power of Kings" allows him to command anyone to do whatever he wants just by direct eye contact. Lelouch decides to put his Geass to use and find the person who killed his mother, destroy the Britannian Empire, and to create a better world where Nunnally can live happily.

The story begins truly from this point, what this intelligent, witty, very tactical young boy with his Geass does to change the world in tremendous ways by making huge sacrifices, war and rebellion. The animation is a bit older but still looks cool to me. All the plot twist that you will come across while watching this anime will make you hungry for more twists and this anime will completely satisfy you!

Characters: 8.5/10 *few of them were 10/10!

I won’t say much about the characters as it will not be fun to read because it will feel so much great to watch them all (there are a lot of characters playing important roles and portrayed very well in this anime).
