Netflix and Chill

Hey everyone! Welcome back to "Netflix and Chill", where we cover reviews of various movies and series. Here, we will cover some of the best movies which managed not to be on the spotlight. Since the last two reviews have been about movies, this time we are going to do a review on a TV series. And what better series to start off with than the hit American TV series How to get away with murder.

Genre: Crime/Mystery/Drama

With a mixture of mystery, drama and crime, this particular series dives into the world of the justice system in America, exposing its flaws and disadvantages as well as the control held by the judges and defense lawyers. With every twists in every scene and cliff-hangers at every end of every episode, this show is guaranteed to provide you with enough suspense to keep you awake at night waiting for the next episode.

Seasons:

Season 1 Episodes 15
Season 2 Episodes 09(So far)

Plot: 8.5/10

As far as plots go, this series still holds its spot as one of the best yet.

Annalise Keating (Viola Davis) is a brilliant, charismatic and seductive professor of defense law, who teaches a class called How to Get Away With Murder. Annalise, also a criminal defense attorney, selects a group of students -- the best and the brightest -- to assist with cases at her firm alongside her employees, the trustworthy and discreet Frank Delfino (Charlie Weber) and Bonnie Winterbottom (Liza Weil), an associate attorney. Mysteries arise that test everyone's limits and reveal dark truths.

From start to finish, the settings, the stage, the acting - everything captivates the audience with a need to know more about the story as it unfolds. And trust me, you won't be disappointed!

Characters: 9/10

This is where the show really shines, after all, the main character is played by Oscar-nominated, Tony-winning actress Viola Davis. Along with Alfred Enoch, Karla Souza, Jack Falahee, Charlie Weber and others, you can't really choose a better acting crew.

What's so amazing about the show is that, unlike every other show to-date(main character gets the spotlight and everyone else is just extras), the show focuses on everyone involves in the plot with almost equal presence in the entire series. And everyone plays their part really well.

Overall, this is a must watch for not only mystery fans, but everyone who has a taste for TV shows. If you are having second thoughts, just watch the first few episodes. What can go wrong, right? (except getting too attached and binge-watching every episode until 3 in the morning and suddenly realizing you have an exam tomorrow)
